Over the years, I have been the change lead on efforts where the change aspect is subservient to a larger effort. On other efforts, the entire effort is the change itself. In the latter instance, all work runs through the Change Manager. This is frequently the case in M&A. In those cases, any "projects" like hardware or software, reported to the Change Manager. Which do you find more often, the project reports to or through you or that you report into a larger project with an overall Project Manager? Are there other scenarios that you have seen?
