The following are some of the most common incentives I've seen/proposed on M&A and organizational realignment projects to support a smoother transition and integration:
Retaining Employees for M&A
· * Performance Based Retention Bonus Program - (by integration phase)
· * New role (within new organizational structure) identified and communicated to the employee in advance in return for their role in M&A integration efforts, or
· * Current role (within new organizational structure) retained and communicated to the employee in advance in return for their role in M&A integration efforts
Employees Who Will Transition Externally Post-M&A Completion
· * Performance Based Retention Bonus Program - (by integration phase) in exchange for support with cross-training, etc.
· * Competitive Severance Package
· * Employee Assistance Program
· * Letter of Recommendation from Employer
· * Eligibility to be rehired into the new company structure if needed
