    I am looking at trends in employment types for Change Managers.  Are more CM's contractors or employees?  Where are they placed in your organization - HR, IT, Business, something else? Do you have a Change Management Office?   Is the role a career path or a temporary assignment?

    Hi Frank;

    This is a great question. I have been running the Change Management Office in an IT higher education organization, where 90% of my time is dedicated to strategic planning; however, due to associated duties, I also chair the IT Change Control Call, supported by ServiceNow, an ITIL tool (stay with me change managers, this is our world)  This call is a briefing session for all related changes impacting production, as supported by IT and my colleagues.

    So your question was, where are they in the organization? They are everywhere (in Enterprise relationship org models) and are hired within the Administration Teams. I have interacted with all of the change champions. However, it was only within this current organization that I created a centralized CMO Change Management Office within IT. This is not the norm, and they want the Change Management discipline to be initiated.
