It's wonderful to hear you're using Prosci's documents and slides to support trusted messengers in your communication strategy. Delivering information through trusted channels, such as Prosci and its resources, can significantly boost adoption and engagement. If you have any specific examples or insights from your experience with these materials or similar ones from other institutions that you'd like to share, I would be very interested in hearing more about them.

Thank you Maria for your comment and for the link. I too use some of Prosci's documents and slides to help our trusted messengers with why their delivery is so important as we develop our communication strategy. Something about hearing information from a trust source and channel does help with adoption.

Hi Angela,
I have started working with Prosci's Communication Checklist, which I consider to be an invaluable resource for creating and assessing effective communication plans.
For instance, as per the checklist, preferred senders should repeat key messages five to seven times. When communicating a change, it is essential to repeat key messages multiple times. People tend to immediately think about how the change will affect them and may miss important details. We should share these messages more often than we may initially think.
Furthermore, Prosci recommends that the first communications about a change should always focus on the following:
a) why the change is happening,
b) why it is happening now, and
c) the risk of not changing.
It is crucial for the change team to ensure that the communication strategy consistently reinforces "the why behind the change" during the entire project lifecycle. This is especially important for change initiatives with a long period between the initial communication and implementation.
At the same time, Prosci's research has found that face-to-face communication is the most effective mode of communication for change initiatives. While meeting someone live in person or virtually may take more time, the effort delivers far more value than an email message.
Hope it helps,
Maria
