Presenters: Michelle Barr & Kate Redpath
Description: This session will share Suncorp’s journey from crawl, walk and then run to become brilliant at the basics across all aspects of establishing and maintaining an agile Change Chapter. We’ll share insights about the 7 pillars of our brilliant at the basics chapter maturity model, including but not limited to:
How we defined our purpose and service offering to clearly document and communicate our standards and value
Our approach to resource and stakeholder management - defining our roles, engagement approach, resource allocation, performance management, onboarding and induction
Our agile guardrails and framework that set out minimum delivery standards and define responsibilities for each delivery role e.g. Day in the Life of a Change Manager.
Our approach to proactively building capability for our workforce including defining accreditation that met our needs, baselining workforce capability and completing regular capability self-assessments that inform a documented uplift plan e.g. training, mentoring, coaching.
How we empower our people and built a thriving community, connecting with our broader workforce via Change Community of Practice with active participation and two-way feedback. How we engage our workforce for effective talent attraction and retention and connect and influence across industry.
You’ll gain practical learnings that will help you to establish a strong Change Chapter that is equipped to operate across a complex portfolio of work, becoming trusted advisors to all areas of your organization who are enabled to deliver on the strategic priorities of C-Suite leaders. You’ll also learn more about creating a strong environment for growth for team members, where they are empowered to own their own growth and development but equally have opportunities to collaborate and grow and learn with their colleagues in the Chapter.
