Have you ever experienced a situation where you had to satisfy regulatory or legal requirements that impacted you change?  Some examples might be impacts to your schedule or benefits to impacted employees.  Have you ever been required to seek legal approval for your plans or had to get legal approval to proceed?

    Yes.

    • The CFPB has dictated some of my innovation work at a U.S. credit bureau (2013-2020)
    • Sarbanes-Oxley dictated some of my work at a large publishing company (2002-3)
    • Dodd-Frank impacted some of my work (huge U.S. bank 2010-13)

Interesting.  I have had oversight by the FDA, EMA (European Medical Authority), NRC and FDA for some aspects of transactions.  For the most part, we were aware of the oversight and planned for it.  The NRC (Nuclear regulatory Authority) showed up unannounced in an Aquisition.

Hi Frank, I had to learn GDPR for other clients in other regions and translations service providers to help assist in training documents. Not only did we have to make sure that we were legal and compliant within the United States we also had to make sure that we were in other regions that we were working with. We had to include that in the timeline of the project and it wasn't an easy process because traditionally 9 to 5 hours and there's not a sense of urgency based upon our project timeline so we had to adjust it based upon when they could provide it to us.

The few times that I needed translation services, we added a translation group to the team.  It did add to the timeline but not horribly.

Frank, that is great to hear. We must have selected a service that could not accommodate our needs in a timely manner.
